Next session of Drama Kids starts Feb. 20 

Drama Kids offers another 8 week session at Arts in Bartlett for 1st-5th graders on Tuesdays Feb 20-April 17 from 6 to 7 p.m. No class on March 28.  Kids have tons of fun while developing important confidence-building skills through improvisations, character analysis, theater games, creative movements and more. Cost is $99 for Arts in Bartlett family members and $109 for nonmembers. Registration is open online at www.drama.kids.com/IL1 or email dramakidsIL1@gmail.com

Bass Lessons

Alison Gaines is a bassist with orchestras throughout the Chicago area and has taught bass and bass guitar (reading skills, improvisation on both instruments and technique on double bass) for beginning levels through advanced students of all ages.  She also conducts the College of DuPage Chamber Orchestra and has taught conducting, music theory, history, aural skills, composition and music appreciation in colleges and for home-school students. She also holds a DMA in conducting from K.U. and a Master’s in Bass from U.S.C. and has won full-time orchestral jobs, received a Tanglewood fellowship and played in the New York String Ensemble and the Spoletto, Italy Opera Orchestra. In 2017, she formed the classical/jazz crossover band - Bolling Team - with cellist Patti Garvey and percussionist Kevin Kosnik. Contact her at 312.622.0084 or alisonjgaines@gmail.com. 

Cello Lessons

Dorothy Deen teaches cello and can be reached at cellodorothy@gmail.com or 630 301 2579. She is a professional cellist performing with various opera and orchestral organizations including the New Philharmonic and Light Opera Works. She is artist director of the Naperville Chamber Players. She has a master's in music performance and pedagogy from Northern Illinois University. 

Violin Lessons

Gretchen Sherrell is accepting new violin and viola students. She is a performer with several area symphonies and coach with Elgin Youth Symphony Chamber Music Institute. She has a doctorate in violin performance. You can reach her at trent@tsherrell.com or 630-483-6879. 

Woodwind Lessons
Wayne Richards has been a professional performer, soloist, clinician, and teacher of saxophone and woodwinds in the Chicago area for more than 30 years. Piano & Voice Lessons; director of Children's  Choir

Mindy Dupee teaches piano and voice. She has taught piano for more than 20 years and taught voice for 15 years.  She previously led a children's choir for a Therapeutic Day School and has sung with the Elgin Choral Union for four years. She may have a few spaces for new students this fall. Free Tabla and traditional Indian Dance Demonstration 3-5 pm, Sunday, March 11. 

Bindu Pathak, teacher of tabla, traditional Indian drums, and Kathak Indian classical dance, will be at Arts in Bartlett on March 11, 3 to 5 pm  She will demonstrate both art forms and answer questions about tabla lessons for boys age 7 and older and Kathak for girls age 6 and older. This is in conjunction with Color My World Arts Academy's free family Indian/Irish free family arts & crafts workshop.
