Paxina Rose - Artist Biography

“Dreamshapes” is a collection of works from local artist Paxina Rose. In these works, she explores abstract concepts of form, color and texture, as well as themes of fleeting emotion and liminality, asking the question, “Where do we go when we dream?”

She is inspired by forests, dying malls, and the contrast and harmony of nature and abandoned structures. “I like creating things that look like a rare collectable, something that can’t be easily replicated in the same way that it’s almost impossible to have the exact same dream. I love the colorful and confusing.”

Paxina also creates and DJ’s electronic music, with much of her style being inspired by dance music culture.of love and devotion to the memory of my father, the late pioneering artist. It realizes a shared dream spanning two generations - an artistic project we had planned together to blend his work with mine in February 2021.

XX number of pieces compose this dreamy, creative landscape. Artist Sharon Swing was so inspired that she created poems with descriptive copy to augment her pieces.
