Mission
Arts in Bartlett was incorporated as a private nonprofit corporation in 2002 and gained 501(c) 3 tax status in 2005. Its mission is “to celebrate the arts and personal creativity so that the community and each individual is enriched.”
The Arts in Bartlett “vision” is to create a community where the overall quality of life is enhanced and each individual is made richer through open participation in the arts.
Your participation is encouraged, join us to help keep our community connected to the arts by becoming a member, exhibiting artist and/or volunteer.
History
The 22-year-old arts council is currently located in Bartlett Town Center. This location features an art gallery, children’s art teacher, music studios offering piano & voice lessons, and massage therapy, plus a community room for events.
Governed by a 12-member board of directors, with an Artist Group overseeing the art gallery, the organization is financed by a combination of memberships, donations, and grants. All programs are supported in part by grants from the Illinois Arts Council and the Village of Bartlett.
Sister City
In 2010, a delegation from Bartlett, including the Arts in Bartlett International Chorus and the Chicago Hakka Chorus toured Taiwan and signed a Sister City Agreement between Miaoli City and the Village of Bartlett.
In 2025, the 15th Sister City Anniversary included a performance by Amazing Taiwan at Bartlett High School and an art exhibit by Ya Wen Chiu.
A July 2025 Bartlett Village Hall gallery exhibit will feature a photo retrospect of the fabulous Sister City relationship.
